Wrong bills to health insurance companies

At the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ), certain medical consultations were systematically billed for years, although this was illegal. This was the result of an external investigation.

The doctors had no knowledge of this billing by the administration. The USZ will reimburse the health insurance companies for the costs invoiced.

According to a statement from the USZ, another external investigation also confirmed irregularities at the Clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The former director of the clinic referred patients to his private clinic.
